<div><strong>Club Filipino :Cory&#8217;s Inaugural</strong></p>
<div>
<strong>The Cory Poem</strong></div>
</div>
<div>(based 100% on quotes of Cory Aquino)</p>
<p>I just do whatever it is that I believe I should do,<br />
Regardless of the risks to my life.<br />
I would rather die a meaningful death<br />
Than to live a meaningless life.</p>
<p>Faith is not simply a patience<br />
That passively suffers until the storm is past.<br />
Rather, it is a spirit that bears things<br />
With blazing, serene hope.</p>
<p>It is true you cannot eat freedom<br />
And you cannot power machinery with democracy.<br />
But then neither can political prisoners turn on<br />
The light in the cells of a dictatorship.</p></div>

<div><strong>&#8220;From a disjointed, short-sighted Mindanao policy that merely reacts to events and incidents to one that seeks a broadly-supported just peace and will redress decades of neglect of the Moro and other peoples of Mindanao.&#8221; Noynoy Aquino&#8217;s campaign platform </strong></div>
<div>“In the Aquino administration, we would like to see not only a decisive leadership founded on good, democratic and just governance. <div><strong> </strong>It said for the peace process to move forward the Aquino administration should zero in on addressing the “causes of conflicts, rectify the historical injustice committed against the marginalized and disempowered Mindanaons and recognize the human rights, including the right to self-determination of the island’s peoples, particularly the Bangsamoro and the Lumads.”</div>

<div><strong>“To the Filipino nation, my Bosses who have steered us toward this day: Thank you very much for the change that is now upon us. The Filipino people are, finally, truly alive.”Noynoy Aquino</strong></div>
<p>A sense of drift pervades the Philippines. Despite his noble intentions, President Noynoy, has not yet articulated a governing philosophy. His politics has been all about tactics with no strategic framework to describe the state of the country. The EQualizer Post</p>
<div><a href="http://thenoynoylibrary.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/x610.jpg"><img src="http://thenoynoylibrary.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/x610.jpg?w=370&#038;h=400" alt="" width="370" height="400" border="0" /></a></div>
<div><strong>“The President will talk about transforming society, his vision and aspirations for the country, and what he wants the country to be.”</strong></div>
<div><strong>Transformational <a title="Leadership" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leadership">leadership</a></strong> is defined as a leadership approach that causes change in individuals and social systems. In its ideal form, it creates valuable and positive change in the followers with the end goal of developing followers into leaders. Enacted in its authentic form, transformational leadership enhances the motivation, morale and performance of followers through a variety of mechanisms. These include connecting the follower&#8217;s sense of identity and self to the mission and the collective identity of the organization; being a role model for followers that inspires them; challenging followers to take greater ownership for their work, and understanding the strengths and weaknesses of followers, so the leader can align followers with tasks that optimise their performance.wikipedia</div>
<div><strong>NOYNOY AQUINO<br />
</strong></div>
<div><strong>A Commitment to Transformational Leadership:</strong><br />
1. From a President who tolerates corruption to a President who is the nation’s first and most determined fighter of corruption.</div>
<div>2. From a government that merely conjures economic growth statistics that our people know to be unreal to a government that prioritizes jobs that empower the people and provide them with opportunities to rise above poverty.</div>
<div>3. From relegating education to just one of many concerns to making education the central strategy for investing in our people, reducing poverty and building national competitiveness.</div>
<div>4. From treating health as just another area for political patronage to recognizing the advancement and protection of public health, which includes responsible parenthood, as key measures of good governance.</div>
<div>5. From justice that money and connections can buy to a truly impartial system of institutions that deliver equal justice to rich or poor.</div>
<div><strong>Economy </strong></div>
<div>6. From government policies influenced by well-connected private interests to a leadership that executes all the laws of the land with impartiality and decisiveness.</div>
<div>7. From treating the rural economy as just a source of problems, to recognizing farms and rural enterprises as vital to achieving food security and more equitable economic growth, worthy of re-investment for sustained productivity.</div>
<div>8. From government anti-poverty programs that instill a dole-out mentality to well-considered programs that build capacity and create opportunity among the poor and the marginalized in the country.</div>
<div>9. From a government that dampens private initiative and enterprise to a government that creates conditions conducive to the growth and competitiveness of private businesses, big, medium and small.</div>
<div>10. From a government that treats its people as an export commodity and a means to earn foreign exchange, disregarding the social cost to Filipino families to a government that creates jobs at home, so that working abroad will be a choice rather than a necessity; and when its citizens do choose to become OFWs, their welfare and protection will still be the government’s priority.<br />
<strong>Government Service </strong></div>
<div>11. From Presidential appointees chosen mainly out of political accommodation to discerning selection based on integrity, competence and performance in serving the public good.</div>
<div>12. From demoralized but dedicated civil servants, military and police personnel destined for failure and frustration due to inadequate operational support to professional, motivated and energized bureaucracies with adequate means to perform their public service missions.</div>
<div><strong>Gender Equality</strong><br />
13. From a lack of concern for gender disparities and shortfalls, to the promotion of equal gender opportunity in all spheres of public policies and programs.</div>
<div><strong>Peace &amp; Order </strong><br />
14. From a disjointed, short-sighted Mindanao policy that merely reacts to events and incidents to one that seeks a broadly-supported just peace and will redress decades of neglect of the Moro and other peoples of Mindanao.</div>
<div>15. From allowing environmental blight to spoil our cities, where both the rich and the poor bear with congestion and urban decay to planning alternative, inclusive urban developments where people of varying income levels are integrated in productive, healthy and safe communities.</div>
<div>16. From a government obsessed with exploiting the country for immediate gains to the detriment of its environment to a government that will encourage sustainable use of resources<br />
to benefit the present and future generations.</div>
<div>This platform is a commitment to change that Filipinos can depend on. With trust in their leaders, everyone can work and build a greater future together.</div>

<h3><strong>Buyer&#8217;s remorse</strong> is the sense of regret after having made a purchase. It is frequently associated with the purchase of big-ticket items such as a car or house. It may stem from fear of making the wrong choice, of guilt over extravagance, or of suspecting having been &#8220;snowed&#8221; by a sales associate.Wikipedia</h3>
<div><strong><a href="http://www.equalizerpost.com/2011/06/year-1-report-card-for-president-noynoy.html">Noynoy’s Marks After One Year In Malacanang</a>(June 25, 2011)</strong></div>
<div><strong>Overall Assessment:B</strong><strong> </strong></div>
<div><strong> A sense of drift pervades the Philippines. Despite his noble intentions, President Noynoy, has not yet articulated a governing philosophy. His politics has been all about tactics with no strategic framework to describe the state of the country.</strong></div>
<div><strong>Will Noynoy maintain his &#8220;laid-back&#8221; leadership style in the face of the alarming crime rate?   </strong></div>
<div>The EQualizer Post politely called it Benigno’s “Benign Neglect” policy.</div>
<div>Dictionary Definition : A policy or attitude of ignoring a situation instead of assuming responsibility for managing or improving it.</p>
<p><strong>Substance:B- </strong><strong>&#8220;Aquino never really seems willing to expend any political capital on what he believes in or claims to stand for,&#8221; said Scott Harrison, managing director of risk consultancy Pacific Strategies &amp; Assessments.</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;Whether this is apathy or just another manifestation of his laziness, aversion to work and the rough-and-tumble of politics remains to be seen,&#8221; he said, although he did credit Aquino for instituting some ethics in governance.</p></div>
<h3><a href="http://www.equalizerpost.com/2009/12/eq-post-noynoy-for-president.html">THE EQ POST ENDORSEMENT: NOYNOY FOR PRESIDENT (December 18, 2009)</a></h3>
<div>As tough as the times are, the selection of a new president for the Philippines is easy. We obviously cannot put back into office a disgraced ex-president convicted and pardoned for PLUNDER.We cannot a elect a man who promises another 6 years of failed GMA polices. We cannot elect the richest candidate who could have serious conflicts of interest with the government because of his vast business empire.</div>
<div>After a decade of misrule, Noynoy Aquino is the right choice.</div>
<div>We do not ask you to vote for him because of his Aquino surname.</p>
<p>We do not ask you to vote for him because of his personality. He does not have the sharp wit of Ninoy nor the charisma of Cory.</p></div>
<div>We do not ask you to vote for him because of the eloquence of his words. Eloquence has no aim: it is a just play of words. Remember our most eloquent president?</div>
<div>We do not ask you to vote for him because of his legislative record, which frankly is not impressive.</div>
<div>
<div>We do not ask you to vote for him and forget his ties with  Hacienda Luisita which clearly is the albatross hanging from his neck.</div>
</div>
<div><strong>WE ASK YOU TO VOTE FOR NOYNOY FOR THREE DAMN GOOD REASONS:</strong></div>
<div>1)<strong> We need a president of impeccable integrity. </strong>We need a candidate who will not steal from us, who will not lie to us, who will not disrespect us and who will not betray our trust.</div>
<div>2) <strong>We need a presidential TANDEM that will fix our national problems. </strong><strong>Noynoy Aquino AND </strong><strong>Mar Roxas will work for us.They will not cut deals.</strong> Sorry, we can&#8217;t guarantee the same things about their competitors.</div>
<div>3) <strong>Most importantly,we need a president with a clear platform of government to solve the mess we&#8217;re in.</strong></div>
<div><strong>We can dream, can&#8217;t we ? We hope a President Noynoy will consider the following:</strong></div>
<div>The new president must take bold steps, right away, to tackle the nation&#8217;s myriad of problems.</div>
<div>The Philippines needs a bold plan that ignites our collective imagination, sparks innovation, and creates economic progress. The starting point? A call to action from our new president in the first 100 days of his administration.</div>
<div>1) Launch a Moral Regeneration Campaign.</div>
<div>* To provide an opportunity to diagnose the past and present state of the moral crisis in the country. * Reflect on strategies and measures to reconstruct the social values of the new democratic Philippines. * Facilitate the evolution of a dynamic mass movement to help and support the government-civil society initiative in planning an effective program of action for the moral renewal of our society. * Promote national advocacy for the creation of an ethical, caring and corruption-free society. * Strengthen the foundations of our hard-won freedom and democracy by building a strong moral society based on a common code of ethics and behavior.</div>
<div>2) Adopt A Genuine Land Reform Program</div>
<div>* Abolish the notorious stock distribution option (SDO) as an acquisition option.</div>
<div>* Prioritize large landholdings such as the Hacienda Luisita 6,453-estate for land acquisition and distribution. To demonstrate the new president&#8217;s sincerity, Hacienda Luisita should the centrepiece of true land reform.</div>
<div>3) Establish A &#8220;Lead Philippines&#8221; Program. Its objective will be to encourage &#8220;the Best And Brightest Filipinos&#8221; here and abroad to work in the new government.</div>
<div>4) Establish a Council on Economic Competitiveness. It will hammer out details of how to implement a long-term national plan that would offer the most productive labor force and the most conducive environment for business. We must accept the fact that competing on cost/low wages or on abundance of natural resources is not a basis for sustainable competitive advantage of the Philippines.</div>
<div>5) Establish a &#8220;Justice For All &#8220;Commission. It will be an independent commission to be established with the guidance and technical support of key United Nations agencies and other international bodies, comprising of senior judges, competent jurists, reputed academics and representatives from civil society, including human rights organizations, to undertake a comprehensive review of the country&#8217;s criminal justice system.</div>

<div>10. From a government that treats its people as an export commodity and a means to earn foreign exchange, disregarding the social cost to Filipino families to a government that creates jobs at home, so that working abroad will be a choice rather than a necessity; and when its citizens do choose to become OFWs, their welfare and protection will still be the government’s priority.</div>
<div>Government Service</div>
<div>Gender Equality</div>
<div>13. From a lack of concern for gender disparities and shortfalls, to the promotion of equal gender opportunity in all spheres of public policies and programs.</div>
<div>Peace &amp; Order</div>
<div>14.
<div>16. From a government obsessed with exploiting the country for immediate gains to the detriment of its environment to a government that will encourage sustainable use of resources</div>
<div>to benefit the present and future generations.</div>
<div>This platform is a commitment to change that Filipinos can depend on. With trust in their leaders, everyone can work and build a greater future together.</div>

<div><strong>Will Noynoy will maintain his &#8220;laid-back&#8221; leadership style in the face of the alarming crime rate? </strong></div>
<div>The EQualizer Post politely called it Benigno’s “Benign Neglect” policy.</div>
<div>Dictionary Definition : A policy or attitude of ignoring a situation instead of assuming responsibility for managing or improving it.</div>
<div><a href="http://thenoynoylibrary.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/juantamad.jpg"><img src="http://thenoynoylibrary.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/juantamad.jpg?w=302&#038;h=400" border="0" alt="" width="302" height="400" /></a></div>
<div><strong> Is Big Noy The Modern Juan Tamad?</strong></div>
<div><em><strong>Juan Tamad</strong></em> (<a title="Filipino language" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filipino_language">Filipino</a> for &#8220;Lazy John&#8221;), is a character in <a title="Philippines" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippines">Philippine</a> <a title="Folklore" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folklore">folklore</a> noteworthy for extreme <a title="Laziness" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laziness">laziness</a>.Arguably, the <em>Juan Tamad</em> story most often told illustrates his utmost laziness to the point of stupidity that it becomes <a title="Comedy" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comedy">comedic</a>. In it, <em>Juan Tamad</em> comes upon a <a title="Guava" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guava">guava</a> tree bearing ripe fruit. Being too slothful to climb the tree and take the fruits, he instead decides to lie beneath the tree and let <a title="Gravity" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravity">gravity</a> do its work. There he remained, waiting for the fruit to fall into his gaping mouth.Wikipedia</div>
<div><a href="http://thenoynoylibrary.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/2get-attachment-aspx.jpg"><img src="http://thenoynoylibrary.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/2get-attachment-aspx.jpg?w=400&#038;h=300" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a><strong> </strong></div>
<div><strong>Lax work ethic slammed</strong></div>
<div>MANILA, Philippines &#8211; Minority lawmakers in the House of Representatives on Wednesday called on President Benigno &#8220;Noynoy&#8221; Aquino to quit slacking around and go to work.</div>
<div>Zambales Rep. Mitos Magsaysay said the President’s work ethic maybe hurting the efficiency of his own administration by being a bad example. Citing the worsening crime situation, Magsaysay said the police maybe getting lax because they see that the President is lax.</div>
<div>“If he only worked longer working hours, even if he got a Porsche, nobody would care. It’s a blatant irony that he can afford to drive a Porsche. We expected the President to institute change. If the President shows he’s the kind of hands-on person…it will somehow deter criminals,&#8221; she said.</div>
<p>Magsaysay thinks the President is acting with a sense of entitlement. From ABS-CBN News</p>
<div><a href="http://thenoynoylibrary.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/juantamad2.jpg"><img src="http://thenoynoylibrary.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/juantamad2.jpg?w=400&#038;h=296" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="296" /></a></div>
<div>&#8220;A sense of drift pervades the Philippines. Despite his noble intentions, President Noynoy, has not yet articulated a governing philosophy. His politics has been all about tactics with no strategic framework to describe the state of the country. &#8221; The EQualizer Post</div>
<div><a href="http://thenoynoylibrary.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/crime-wave1.jpg"><img src="http://thenoynoylibrary.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/crime-wave1.jpg?w=400&#038;h=201" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="201" /></a></div>
<div>&#8220;People may forgive P-Noy if he says something stupid about the Supreme Court, the economy or foreign affairs. But because he himself said that he and Rico Puno are responsible for the police, he is even now, being measured on this basis.</div>
<div>And yes, this being a business column, bad peace and order is bad for business, bad for investments, bad for everybody. No amount of investment incentives will attract investors, local or foreign, if their personal security is always at risk.</div>
<div>A Crime Wave’s On! Does P-Noy care? I hate it that I am starting to miss Ping Lacson. At least in his time, you knew someone is in charge.&#8221; Boo Chanco, Philippine Daily Star</div>

<div>My beloved countrymen:</div>
<div>Our administration is facing a forked road. On one direction, decisions are made to protect the welfare of our people; to look after the interest of the majority; to have a firm grip on principles; and to be faithful to the public servant’s sworn oath to serve the country honestly.</div>
<div>This is the straight path.</div>
<div>On the other side, personal interest is the priority, and where one becomes a slave to political considerations to the detriment of our nation.</div>
<div>This is the crooked path.</div>
<div>For a long time, our country lost its way in the crooked path. As days go by (since I became President), the massive scope of the problems we have inherited becomes much clearer. I could almost feel the weight of my responsibilities.<br />

<div>MANILA, Philippines &#8211; Catholic bishops have expressed alarm over the spate of crimes in the last couple of weeks, with some tagging it a “moral disaster.”<br />
They also voiced out their concerns over the government’s inability to promote law and order.<br />
Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Emeritus Oscar V. Cruz told the CBCP News that the crimes reflect a “dysfunctional justice system than anything else.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>He even noted President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III “appears irrelevant in the present social predicament, and that is the reality.”<br />
Kalookan Bishop Deogracias S. Iñiguez, Jr., for his part, said the increase in the number of crimes, and not just recent news of carjacking incidents, shows “the inability of government to promote law and order.”<br />
On the other hand, Catarman Bishop Emmanuel Trance said these killings are not situated in Manila alone. In other parts of the country, crimes are happening “silently and continually.”</p>
<div><a href="http://thenoynoylibrary.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/crimewave_highres1.jpg"><img src="http://thenoynoylibrary.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/crimewave_highres1.jpg?w=400&#038;h=298" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="298" /></a></div>
<p>Puerto Princesa Bishop Pedro Arigo, head of the CBCP’s Episcopal Commission on Prison Pastoral Care, said the crime wave was brought about by “inefficient law enforcement and the culture of impunity that criminals are getting away scot-free.”<br />
Marbel Bishop Dinualdo Gutierrez said the government should be put to action and consider “re-educating and re-training law enforcement agents.”<br />
“They should be given communication equipment and transport facilities and sent policemen to cover regular beats,” he added.<br />
Trance said the President should play a very critical role in solving the problems.<br />
“More than political will, there should be the support of the citizenry and the transformation of our law and order agencies and institutions,” he added. From ABS-CBN</p>
